Yolanda Ledezma, Biography

Text Box:

Yolanda Ledezma Jacquez makes all of her pots in the style of her sister-in-law Olga Quezada.

She makes light, well-polished, rich camel color clay pots in a variety of sizes.  Some have circular mouths, others have square mouths or square with points.

The painted decoration consists of columns of black diamonds made to look like they are spiraling towards the top because of the fine lines she scratches into the surface.  An interesting variations are the pots which also have ants scratched into the black diamonds appearing as though they are climbing in a spiral towards the mouth.
