Flower Bouquet
Flower Bouquet, P034-MX, $150 New Arrival!

Seed Art

There is an old saying about necessity being the mother of invention.  I think necessity can be also the source of inspiration.   Using seeds, seeds found in the trees of her backyard or in the peppers she uses to cook that may otherwise be tossed to the wind or trashed, Bertha Fernandez has developed a sophisticated form of seed art.

Her seed pictures are very original and distinctive.   Each pistachio, sunflower, pepper sour sop or melon seed is treated and then glued into an elegant picture.  Your wall will come to live with this art.

(Click on pictures for details and ordering. Note that custom pieces take 3-4 weeks for delivery)

Wicker Mirror
Wicker Mirror, P039-MX, $90 SOLD

Decorative Mirrors

Wrought iron and wicker, the strong and the flexible, are the materials used in this custom-designed mirror.  Martha, an accomplished artist and designer, is helping the women in her native village.  She is teaching them the fine art of working with these materials to create accessories for the home.  We are introducing the mirror as a prelude of fine hand-made accessories for your home to be added later.

If you like this piece, please send us a note at elcoquigifts@ibm.net.

Mexican Oils

Our group of painters comes from the area of Jalisco, Guadalajara. They all have the passion for creating art, studied with local masters or with the government sponsored art school, and are making a living through their portraits of the daily live of Mexicans in their area.

Whether is a view of the kitchen looking outside to the street, a Bodegon (open cupboard-like), a man coming come with this donkey or a young lady selling callas, our artist have the ability to capture the feelings of people, their dreams and illusions, as well as the beauty of their surroundings.

Take a look at our pictures, you’ll feel you are right inside there!  Each one comes framed in a rustic wood, matted frame
