Hammocks -
Puerto Rico
The Indians of the Caribbean were smart.
They designed comfortable bed-like hammocks that provided a fresh
place to rest while enjoying the tropical sun and trade winds.
One of our artisans has taken this basic ‘sack’ and converted
it into an expression of art and comfort for today’s fast paced
lifestyles.
Our hammocks are hand-woven in
macramé. Some are large enough for two people to
cuddle! Unique to our collection, is a 'silla-hamaca' or
chair-hammock that is a comfortable yet small enough to fit in a
room of your house or loft apartment. |
| Unlike those you have seen in
the major department stores, our hammocks are hand-made by Puerto
Rican and Venezuelan artisans and are both a work of art and a
functional addition to your house. Soon you can get your own
hammock for relaxing afternoons on your front porch, resting in the
backyard breezes after a summer BBQ...or just to sit around in your
room reading your favorite book! |
